New Year Cleanse 2013

Hi Everyone,
To ring in a new year, I’ll be preparing food for a 14-day cleanse to help us all ease into better health and wellness, and move into a space of eating less sugar and salt, as well as keep you organic, vegan, and alive!

The first part of the cleanse will be lightly sweetened and salted, and as we move deeper into the cleanse, we’ll start consuming less sugars and salt, and also move entirely to liquid for 5 days. The last 4 days you will be enjoying delicious and filling salads, juices, and soups. At this point, no sweeteners, and limited fruit and sweet vegetables will be used. Also, only herbs, seaweed, and celery salt will be used to season the food. It'll be awesome, and you'll feel amazing!

It will start on Monday, January 14th and go through Sunday, February 3rd.  I’m looking forward to treating you and myself to this special menu.

As always with The New Leaf, everything will be Organic, Freshly-Made, Gluten-Free, Vegan, & Raw.

Spring Summer Cleanse

Hi Everyone,
It’s been an intense spring, and I’ll be preparing food for a 21-day cleanse to help us all ease into better health and wellness.  It will start on Monday, June 4th and go through Sunday, June 24th.  I’m looking forward to treating myself and others to this special menu.

As always with The New Leaf, everything will be Organic, Freshly-Made, Gluten-Free, Vegan, & Raw.

For the first week, Entrees will start more dense and heavy, and then taper down to more easily digestible soups.  Breakfast will start rich and then taper down to large smoothies or juice. I will prepare large salads for dinner, with fresh dressings, spiced nuts, and cheezes.  A sweet snack will also be included each day as well, and you will receive 2 bags of raw crackers at the beginning of the first week.

The Sunday before the week of juice, food will taper down to 32oz of soup, smoothie, and juice on the final day before the second week.  The second week will be entirely juices, with a good mix of sweet and savory.  Each day, you will receive 3 quarts of juice.

The third week will be similar to the first week of food, except in reverse order, and will be a little lighter.  You may find that you won’t be able to eat everything after a week of resetting your body with juice!

Remembering a dear friend

Reposting from June 19th, 2009.  We will miss you so much Kathryn.

I heart Strawberry Fields....

and I heart Kathryn, too!

We picked the strawberries from Bella Organic Farm on Sauvie Island today - in the pouring rain...wearing sundresses and tank-tops...and a sunhats, of course! Kathryn was so dedicated to the cause that she even had plastic-wrapped her casted wrist so she could pick in the rain...we found some beautiful berries, and just paid a little extra for the water we gathered in our buckets...for freshness, of course ;)

These berries are going to be perfect as a vinaigrette...thinking lavender might not be so bad with it either...will be wandering the Madison - Hawthorne blocks to find a neighbor who might be willing to share...

Hi!
I'm finally back to Portland, back to making food, and back to posting! This feels really exciting, even though I'm not sure exactly how things are going to happen...pretty awesome, right? I'm currently working at SIP (you know, the awesome juice cart in front of People's Co-op) and am also working on arrangements for a kitchen to prepare food for the New Leaf at People's Co-op Farmer's Market on Wednesdays.  Will keep you all posted, but I hope to be back to making food soon!
xoxo,
Agnieszka
